Your pharmacist can provide free confidential advice and treatment for a range of common ailments without you having to make an appointment to see your GP.
After a short consultation they can give advice, supply medication or if necessary, refer you to the GP.
Common ailments include: indigestion, constipation, diarrhoea, piles, hay fever, head lice, teething, nappy rash, colic, chicken pox, threadworms, sore throat, athlete's foot, eye infections, conjunctivitis, interigo, mouth ulcers, cold sores, acne, dry skin/ dermatitis, ringworm, verruca, back pain, in-growing toenails, vaginal thrush, oral thrush and scabies.
Requests for reports are undertaken by the doctors. These are classed as "private" and as such do not take priority over NHS work. These requests incur a fee.
Most Insurance companies will write to your GP directly and the surgery liaise with them regarding fees.

Travel Vaccinations & Malaria Prevention
We can administer many travel vaccinations. Please ask for further details. Travel vaccinations should be booked at least SIX weeks before travelling to ensure enough time to develop full immunity. Private prescriptions for anti-malarial drugs and some vaccinations incur a charge. Please ask at reception for details.
Anti-malarial tablets are not available on NHS prescription and your pharmacist will be able to advise you on the cost of the private prescription.
Vaccination and malaria prevention requirements for individual countries can change from time to time and should be checked before you travel. Your doctor or nurse will have access to the most up-to-date information. This information is also available at:
